Spring is Around the Corner and Staging Your Basking Ridge Home Just Got Easier

If you are thinking about selling your home this spring you will need to have it in tip top shape and looking better than the competition. The curb appeal of your home is what will bring buyers inside. If they can’t get past the way the entry way looks you will have a harder time getting them through the front door so they can see what the interior has to offer. Here are some things you should do outside to make your home look the most attractive to a bigger pool of buyers:

1) Repaint or replace the front door. A nice coat of paint that is not too overbearing but will make the front door stand out is a great touch.

2) Get rid of the weeds! If the front of your home looks overgrown it is a good idea to trim back all the shrubbery and pull the weeds that are not supposed to be there. If you are sparse on landscaping it might be a wise investment to add some to make the home really stand out. If you have lights in the front of the home be sure the bulbs are all lit and none of them are burnt out.

3) Freshly manicured lawn! Make sure you keep your lawn cut, edged and weed whipped. If your lawn has any bare spots, put some seed down to fill them up. If you have any low spots it’s  a good idea to get some dirt to fill them and then lay down the seed. Remember.. if they can’t get past the way the front of the house looks, you will have a harder time getting them into the home to see it.

4) Hide all compost and garbage containers. If you store your containers outside it might be a good idea to put them in a shed or in the garage when your home is listed for sale.
