During July and August, the Bernards Township engineering department has scheduled its annual road reconstruction and improvements program on the following streets:

Construction is scheduled to take place on weekdays between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., according to the engineering department. The projects were set to begin on Thursday, July 5.

“During this time, vehicular access will be restricted and on street parking is prohibited,” the township announced. Residents are being asked to plan for alternate parking or travel arrangements during construction hours.

However, township officials offered assurance that emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times on roads undergoing repairs. The roads will be reopened at the end of each day.

Bernards Township Administrator Bruce McArthur has said that the township each year prioritizes roads for repairs or reconstruction.
